The Marching Bands from both North Hunterdon and Voorhees High Schools marched together in the 82nd Annual Columbus Day Parade in New York City on October 12, 2026. The Columbus Day Parade in New York City is a yearly event that has been taking place since 1929. The parade includes marching bands, floats, and over 35,000 people participating. It starts on Fifth Avenue at 44th Street and goes all the way up to 79th Street.
We are very proud of the North Hunterdon and Voorhees District Marching Bands for their performance in the Columbus Day parade. Thanks to the band directors, Charlie Hopta and Joseph Reynolds, for making it possible for both bands to march together.

Chalking one up for New Jersey’s Week of Respect!

The Interior Design class in the Family & Consumer Sciences department at Voorhees High School took their lessons outside to brighten up the campus.

Students were asked to think about how they feel—and how they want to feel—when arriving at school each day. Using elements of design learned in class, such as specific color schemes, shapes, lines, and positive words, they planned and drafted colorful sidewalk art. On Wednesday morning, they brought their ideas to life right at the school entrance.

Their goal? To bring a little extra brightness and a smile to every student’s face as they start their day.

Great job to our creative Voorhees High School students for making a positive impact on our school community!
